Business operating licenses, including liquor

A finished build-out doesn't mean you can open. Restaurants, bars, hotels, gyms and shops need a stack of state and local licenses, and one missing approval can hold up opening day. We map out every license your business needs, line them up with your construction schedule, and handle the applications, including liquor licenses.

How we handle it

  1. License map

We list every state and local license and approval your business needs, and which ones depend on construction being finished.

  2. Zoning and use

We confirm the location is allowed for your use, including any distance or zoning rules that apply to alcohol sales.

  3. Applications

We prepare and file the state applications, such as liquor and food service licenses with Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation, plus the local Certificate of Use and Business Tax Receipts.

  4. Inspections and sign-offs

We coordinate the fire, building and health inspections each license requires.

  5. Licensed and open

You open with every license in hand, and we track renewals so none lapse.

Questions we hear

Can you help with a liquor license?

Yes. We handle beer and wine licenses and full liquor licenses, including the local zoning and building sign-offs the state requires before it will issue one.

Why is a full liquor license so hard to get in Florida?

Licenses that allow full liquor sales for drinking on site are limited by each county's population, so many are bought from existing holders. Restaurants that meet seating and food-sales requirements may qualify for a special restaurant license instead. We'll tell you which path fits your business.

Which licenses does a new restaurant need?

Typically a state food service license, a liquor or beer and wine license if you serve alcohol, a local Certificate of Use, city and county Business Tax Receipts, and fire inspection approval. The exact list depends on the location.

Can you take over licenses when I buy a business?

Yes. Many licenses don't transfer automatically with a sale. We handle the transfers and new applications so there's no gap.
